Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to end the war in Ukraine and may take significant steps soon.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in an interview with American media that he understood from his talks with President Putin in Uzbekistan last week that President Putin wants to end the war in Ukraine as soon as possible.

The Turkish president also said that 200 prisoners may be exchanged between Russia and Ukraine soon.

It should be noted that Ukraine managed to take back a large part of its territory from Russian occupation this month. However, Russia has not yet given any indication that it is considering a complete withdrawal from Ukraine, including Crimea.
