An MBA student, her boyfriend Sunny Mehta and her friend Rankaj Verma, accused of leaking offensive videos of Chandigarh University students, were produced in a Kharar court on Monday, from which the court sent the three accused to 7-day police remand.

During the hearing, the accused’s lawyer made a shocking revelation to the court that the accused student had also videoed another girl, but the girl’s identity was not revealed. The lawyer’s claim raised questions about the Punjab Police’s claim that the accused had not made any other videos.

The lawyer surprised everyone by saying that the accused student had also made a video of another girl but did not reveal her identity, though the police have so far denied it. Since the incident, offensive videos of 60 university students have been leaked on the internet, but the police are denying it. Police say the girl just made her video and shared it.

The disclosure of this information by the lawyer of the accused has created a new controversy in the case. But so far the police has not commented on this matter. The police have assured the students that any video deleted from the mobile phone will be recovered. Police will try to find out how many videos the main accused student made and sent to whom.
At the same time, the Punjab government has also constituted an SIT to investigate the matter. Forensic examination of the three mobiles seized from the accused will also be conducted. On the other hand, the university has also formed an internal investigation committee to investigate the matter, which has 9 members including the head of the women’s cell of the university. There are 3 student representatives and 6 professors in this committee. This committee will investigate the entire incident and prepare a report and submit it to the administration.

On the other hand, investigations so far have revealed that the main accused in the case, Sunny Mehta’s boyfriend runs a bakery in Shimla, while her friend Ronkaj Verma himself works in a travel agency in Shimla. All three are friends of each other. According to information, police were shocked when the offending video of the accused student was recovered from Rankaj Verma’s mobile phone as the accused student had shared his videos only with her boyfriend. The police will also investigate this aspect.
