Mumbai : Which legal clause was penalized against those who did not use face mask during Corona? The High Court asked this question to the municipality on Monday. The PILs alleged that the previous government’s decision to make masks mandatory during Corona and levy fines from those who did not wear them was illegal. The petitioners have also sought an order to refund the fine. At the same time, the petitioners have also sought an order to take action against former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray for misappropriation of funds. During the hearing of this petition, the court asked the municipal corporation according to which legal provisions masks were enforced and disciplinary action was taken against violators of these rules. The court also directed the municipality to submit arguments in the next hearing regarding Section 2 of the Epidemic Act.

The state government gave the certificate of the Supreme Court verdict. It said that the vaccination drive conducted by the central government to prevent the corona epidemic cannot be flawed and the measures are appropriate and justified in the context of the current pandemic. Considering all this, action cannot be demanded against former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray for misappropriation of funds, he claimed.
