40 MLAs and 12 MPs rebelled with senior Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde and there was a shift in power in Maharashtra. After this, more than two and a half months have passed since Eknath Shinde assumed the post of Chief Minister. But what exactly caused the rebellion? People still have many questions.
How did the idea of rebellion come to mind? Chief Minister Eknath Shinde replied to such a question. From the beginning, the Sena legislators were opposed to the formation of the government with the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party. When and how did this idea come to mind that there should be a rebellion at this time? When asked about this, Eknath Shinde said, “Actually, we did not agree to form the government with Congress and NCP. The army legislators did not agree, and neither did the people. We are workers following the mandate of the party. Then the leadership decided, we started working together. But still the legislators did not approve it.”

“We were against it from the beginning. Shiv Sena was suffering, workers were being harassed. Leaders of some of the partner parties of the Mabiya government were visiting our own MLA’s constituency for Bhoomi Puja and inauguration. It all starts with the hand of the losing candidate. Shiv Sena was stifling. Eknath Shinde comments that the views of Balasaheb and Hindutva are also merging.
