Arrived: The incident of drowning of two youths who went swimming in Agasti river embankment between Bhatgaon-Rait in Bhatgaon Shivra of taluka took place around 3:30 pm on Tuesday. The two youths killed in the accident are Deepak Dilip Mitke (18 years, Res. Bhatgaon, Dist. Yewala) and Tushar Devidas Ugle (18 years, Res. Mandwad, Dist. Nandgaon). While preparations for Ganeshotsav are underway across the state, the incident is causing grief in Yevla taluk.

Deepak failed the 12th exam in MEET, while his maternal uncle Tushar S. from Babulgaon near Bhatgaon in Ugley. N. D. He was studying in the first year of the diploma college of the educational institution. He was currently staying with his uncle in Bhatgaon for his studies. According to the police, on Tuesday afternoon, the two went swimming in the embankment. Both drowned in it.

Yevala Town Police Inspector Bhagwan Mathure, Police Sub-Inspector Suraj Medhe, Assistant Sub-Inspector Kiran Sonwane, Constable Sachin Raut, Madhukar Jethe etc. rushed to the spot on hearing about the accident. Two bodies were recovered from the embankment with the help of village swimmers.

Meanwhile, the body was handed over to the relatives after the autopsy at Evla Upazila Hospital on Tuesday evening.
