Crestwood Community School will be closed on Friday ThePipaNews

CRESTWOOD Community School will delay its opening following building work over the past year.

In a letter to parents, the principal, Krista Dawkins, said the school will remain closed on Friday, September 2 for a deep clean due to construction work.

Besides a deep clean that was needed, Dawkins said staff have been unable to access the buildings and therefore have not been able to prepare their classrooms for the start of the semester.

The school plans to re-open to all students on Monday 5 September with a scheduled start of 8.30am.

As part of the renovation plans for the Shakespeare Campus, a new roof and crescent floor have been built.

The school’s Cherbourg Campus has a whole suite of renovated science rooms.

In the letter, Krista Dawkins acknowledges the inconvenience to some parents, but acknowledges the duty of care to ensure the school is “fully functional, clean and hygienic for students to return to”.
