Yerwada; Leading News Service: Amit Avinash Raut, clerk and the then in-charge secondary registrar, has been issued a notice to give his statement regarding the registration of illegal documents at the secondary registration office at Vishrantwadi. Deputy Inspector General of Registration Govind Karad said that Raut has not yet spoken. An investigation conducted by assistant district registrar Anil Parkhe revealed that Raut had registered 24 illegal entries in violation of the provisions of the Prohibition Act on August 8, the last day he took charge as assistant sub-registrar.
Amit Raut went on vacation after this incident. When asked about Amit Raut’s misconduct, Deputy Inspector General of Registration Govind Karad said that Amit Raut’s report has been received. He was then given notice to present his statement. His term expired on Monday. It has been informed that strict action will be taken against him in the next two days.
Karad said that an investigation would also be conducted to see if any other senior officer was involved with Raut in the case.
