Aurangabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced various schemes for the welfare of minority communities under the slogan Sabka Sath Sabka Bikash. In the press conference organized by the member of parliament of the district Imtiaz Jalil, the district administration is indifferent to the implementation of those plans. In the press conference, he raised various questions about the activities of the administration by highlighting the accounts of the minority welfare projects of the last 4 years.
A meeting was held at the District Officer’s office to review the schemes implemented for the minority community under the chairmanship of Additional District Officer Anant Gawan. In the meeting, the administration took stock of the status of various schemes under the 15 Kolami programs implemented by the central government for the advancement of minority communities. Jalil said, the minority community is not only the Muslim community, it includes Buddhist, Jain, Sikh, Parsi, Christian community.
Meeting after 4 years keeping in mind the rules
MP Jalil said that according to government rules, a meeting should be held every three to four months to review various projects implemented for the welfare of minorities. However, after 4 years, the local district administration held a review meeting. MP expressed anger about this. At the concluded meeting, MP Jalil expressed his surprise that the concerned department officials did not have any account of how many people in the district had benefited from the scheme issued for the minority community.
Administration does not have any information of beneficiaries
MP Jalil said, “When I asked about the details of the beneficiaries of various schemes issued by the government for the welfare of minorities, the replies of all the officials were very interesting.” In particular, last year 2020-21, 8 lakh 91 thousand rupees were distributed as scholarships to students belonging to minority communities. MP Jalil also expressed surprise that this number has decreased by 50 percent to 4 lakh 42 thousand 332 in the financial year 2021-22. He said that on the one hand the government is raising the slogan of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, on the other hand the administration officials are working to deprive the students of the minority community from education. Similarly, MP Jalil is angry even though the officials do not know the beneficiary criteria of the Begum Hazrat scheme issued for female students. MP Jalil also raised questions about the activities of the Xhosa administration, there is no account of how much benefit the girls have received in this project.
Ministers of the besieged district
Prime Minister Narendra Modi implemented schemes for the welfare of minorities, but are these schemes really being implemented by the administration under the direction of the central government? The city’s Rajya Sabha MP and Union Minister Dr. Bhagwat Karad, Union Minister Raosaheb Danve, State Cooperation Minister Atul Sev are also taking stock of it. But, these ministers have not taken stock of the schemes implemented for the welfare of minorities till date. MP Jalil expressed his anger about this and questioned the activities of these ministers. Finally, Jalil said that he would soon write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the neglect of implementation of the Centre’s schemes for the welfare of minorities due to the apathy of the district administration. Rather, he will speak in the Lok Sabha on this issue in the future.
