A HEARTBROKEN mother of a young Celtic fan who passed away last week has called on her fellow Hoops fans to pay tribute to him during Saturday’s Old Firm game.
Leon Brown died suddenly aged just 14 last Thursday.
Hundreds of tributes poured in for the Celtic daft youngster following the devastating news.
A balloon release also took place in honor of the tragic Cumbernauld teenager.
Leon’s mother Lauryn announced the heartbreaking news on social media. Last week she wrote: “This morning my whole world came crashing down around me. The love of my life, my best friend, my son Leon passed away overnight.
“Leon Brown I have never felt heartbreak like this before I love you so much you will ever know and will never stop missing you my little angel boy”.
But they are now planning for Leon, who was described as a “loving, caring and good friend”, to be honored when Ange Postecoglou’s side face their rivals in blue on Saturday.
Lauryn has urged the fans to join in a round of applause during the 14th minute of the match.
She also said a message will be posted on the screen in the stadium and Hoops winger Liel Abada will wear a t-shirt with Leon’s face on it.
She shared a screenshot of the applause and wrote: “Thanks to everyone for sharing this, we have managed to speak to a few people from Celtic.

“Just a little update to let you all know that Liel Abada will be wearing a T-shirt with Leon’s picture under his top on old firm day and he will also be taking a Celtic top to Parkhead for the rest of the players to sign.”
“His image will also appear during the match with a small message on the big screen.”
Leon has been described as a “lovely boy” and “brilliant friend” by those paying tribute.
The fundraiser for Leon’s family has already raised over £2,700.
The organizer said the community was “shocked and saddened” by the tragic news of Leon’s passing.
They wrote: “The whole of Cumbernauld is shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of young Leon, aged 14.
“Please help us support his family through this difficult time and let’s give Wee Leon, who was the kindest caring young boy, the send off he deserves.”
Celtic FC have been contacted for comment.
