Franz Wagner’s Disappointing Performance Marks Cavs’ Victory in Game 7

Franz Wagner’s struggles defined Game 7 of the 2024 NBA Playoffs Conference Quarterfinals as the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Orlando Magic 106-94 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse on Sunday.

In a disappointing display, German player Franz Wagner ended his 2023-24 season and first postseason with just six points, shooting 1 for 15 in 35 minutes. Alongside six assists, six rebounds, one block, and one steal, Wagner’s performance was far from his best. His brother, Moritz Wagner, also concluded his first playoff series with three points, two rebounds, one block, and one steal in 12 minutes.

The Cavaliers, led by Donovan Mitchell’s impressive 39 points, fought back after trailing by 18 points in the first half. Despite early setbacks, the Cavs secured their spot in the Semifinals of the Eastern Conference with their fourth win in seven outings. Injuries sidelined key players Jarrett Allen, Ty Jerome, Craig Porter Jr., and Dean Wade for the crucial Game 7.

Next, the Cavaliers will face the Boston Celtics in Game 1 at TD Garden on Tuesday.
