“Elvis Presley’s Blue Suede Shoes Expected to Fetch £120,000 at Auction”
The iconic blue suede shoes worn by Elvis Presley are set to fetch a staggering £120,000 at auction. These shoes, worn by the legendary king of rock and roll during the 1950s, are expected to be sold by auctioneers Henry Aldridge & Son in Devizes, Wiltshire.
Auctioneer Andrew Aldridge described the shoes as “as iconic as they can be,” emphasizing their significance in popular culture and music history. The shoes, sized 10.5, were eventually given to Presley’s friend Alan Fortas after Presley was called up to join the American army.
The shoes have been verified by a close friend of Presley and a leading authority on the singer, Jimmy Velvet, adding to their authenticity. Accompanying the shoes is a sterling silver genuine Tigers Eye Necklace worn by Presley, as well as a certificate of authenticity from the Elvis Presley Museum.
In addition to the Elvis Presley memorabilia, a two-piece suit worn by Queen’s Freddie Mercury and a pair of black velvet Church’s ‘Crown’ loafers will also be up for auction. The suit and loafers were worn by Mercury during the ‘I’m Going Slightly Mad’ music video, just months before his death in 1991.
The auction is set to take place on Friday, offering fans and collectors the opportunity to own a piece of music history from two of the most iconic performers of all time.
