Donald Trump believes former US President could swiftly end Russia-Ukraine conflict with one condition.

News Updates on the Russian-Ukrainian Conflict

Former US President Donald Trump’s bold claim that he could resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine in just one day has stirred up controversy. Despite his insistence on this during his presidency and even on the campaign trail for a potential future term, Russia’s UN ambassador, Vassily Nebenzia, has dismissed the notion that such a complex and longstanding crisis can be settled so quickly.

At a recent debate with President Joe Biden, Trump pointed fingers at the current administration, suggesting that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not have invaded Ukraine if the United States had a stronger leader. Nebenzia, however, revealed that an opportunity for peace was missed back in April 2022 during talks in Istanbul, where Russia and Ukraine were close to reaching an agreement.

The Russian ambassador also criticized Ukraine’s Western allies for allegedly obstructing the peace process and encouraging Kyiv to continue its fight against Russia. In response, nearly 80 countries supported the idea that Ukraine’s territorial integrity should be the foundation for any peace agreement, although some key nations, including Russia, did not endorse this sentiment.

The ongoing conflict has taken a toll on Ukraine, with the country struggling to stabilize its front line and delayed military aid from the US making the situation more challenging. Nebenzia urged Ukrainian President Zelenskyy to be realistic and consider the current developments on the ground, warning that achieving a diplomatic resolution may become increasingly difficult as the situation intensifies.

As tensions continue to escalate between Russia and Ukraine, the world watches closely, hoping for a peaceful resolution to the conflict that has claimed numerous lives and displaced many.
