Paris 2024: Noah Lyles and Kenny Bednarek Qualify in 100M at US Olympic Trials
Noah Lyles and Kenny Bednarek, who both earned medals in the 200-meter race at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, have qualified for the 100-meter event at the Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon. Lyles impressed with a personal-best-tying time of 9.83 seconds, securing his spot in Paris and setting his sights on winning four gold medals.
Bednarek followed closely behind with a time of 9.87 seconds, while Fred Kerley also qualified with a time of 9.88 seconds. Lyles expressed confidence in his performance and his goals moving forward after achieving such a strong time.
Lyles, who missed out on qualifying for the 2016 Summer Games, won bronze in the 200-meter event in Tokyo. He also had a successful showing at the 2023 World Championships, where he claimed victory in the 100-meter and 200-meter events, as well as the 4×100-meter relay with his teammates.
