Windy and warm on the island, will it be clear for today’s eclipse?

It could be sunny on Key Biscayne for the much-anticipated 2024 solar eclipse, as the island could experience seeing up to a 55% partial covering of the sun by the moon.

While today’s weather forecast calls for a mixture of sun and clouds, according to the Weather Channel, it could be “mostly sunny” on Key Biscayne between 1 and 2 p.m. and the entire eclipse visual is expected to last from 1:47.45 until 4 p.m. After 2 p.m., some cloudiness is forecast on the island and impact the maximum shadowing on the island, which is predicted to be at 3:01:50 p.m.

Today’s high of 76 degrees could be felt around 2 p.m. with ENE winds ENE at 15 to 25 miles per hour (mph) with higher wind gusts possible.

There is a Small Craft Advisory in effect from Monday 5 p.m. to Tuesday 8 p.m.

Today, the sun will rise at 7:04:12 a.m. and sunset will be at 7:41:07 p.m.

Tonight, partly cloudy skies a low of 72 degrees, with at 15 to 25 mph, gusting higher.

Tuesday, partly cloudy skies and a high close to 80 degrees with persisting winds of 15 to 25 mph and higher wind gusts possible.
