Apple Watch Ultra 3 Set to Launch with Minimal Hardware Upgrades

Renowned tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shares insights on the upcoming Apple Watch Ultra 3, slated to debut at the company’s fall event, likely in September.

Contrary to previous reports, Ming-Chi Kuo’s latest revelation hints at minimal hardware upgrades for the much-anticipated Apple Watch Ultra 3. Compared to its predecessor, the Apple Watch Ultra 2, launched in 2023, the new iteration is not expected to boast significant hardware changes.

The Apple Watch Ultra 3, much like its predecessor, is anticipated to retain its design, with Kuo suggesting “almost no” hardware upgrades this year. However, it’s in stark contrast to the speculated features of the Apple Watch X or Apple Watch Series 10. The latter is expected to sport a thinner case, magnetic bands, and additional health features like blood pressure sensing and sleep apnea detection. Despite these enhancements, the design of the Ultra 3 is anticipated to be indistinguishable from the Ultra 2.

In addition to the Ultra 3, there are rumors of a third-generation Apple Watch SE making its debut at the fall event. If Apple follows its two-year upgrade cycle for the affordable model, it may indeed be unveiled alongside the Ultra 3 and the Apple Watch X.
