Redesigned iPhone to Replace Plus Variant in 2025, Priced Higher than Pro Max Model
US-based technology giant Apple is gearing up to make some major changes to its iPhone lineup in the coming years. According to a report by 9To5Mac, citing The Information, Apple is preparing to introduce a redesigned iPhone in 2025 that would replace the Plus variants. This new model, dubbed the “iPhone Slim,” is expected to feature a completely new design and a slimmer chassis.
The iPhone Slim is set to bring a significant overhaul to the iPhone line, following in the footsteps of the iPhone X series, which was launched in 2017. The iPhone X introduced features such as FaceID, OLED displays, and thinner bezels, marking a major milestone in iPhone design.
The upcoming iPhone Slim is rumored to feature a screen size somewhere between the vanilla iPhone and the Pro Max variants, with a smaller dynamic island size. The smartphone will have an aluminium chassis and a centrally aligned rear camera module.
Interestingly, the report suggests that the iPhone Slim could be priced higher than the Pro Max model, signaling that Apple is positioning this new device as a premium offering in its lineup. The iPhone Plus model is expected to be discontinued after the release of the iPhone 16 in 2024, paving the way for the new iPhone Slim model.
While the final design for the iPhone Slim has not been confirmed yet, there is speculation that it could be named the “iPhone Ultra.” Additionally, Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has revealed that Apple will be using a stainless steel battery case for the first time in the upcoming iPhone 16 series. This new battery enclosure design is expected to provide better rigidity and protection for the device, while also making it easier to comply with repairability regulations in the European Union.
As Apple continues to push the boundaries of smartphone design and technology, the introduction of the iPhone Slim in 2025 is sure to generate excitement among Apple enthusiasts and tech enthusiasts alike. Stay tuned for more updates on this evolving story.
